Tomorrow is our first home meet! We’re ready to take on the Mills Farm Mustangs and bring home the win!

Bring your beach vibes and gear, and get ready to ride the waves to victory! Prizes will be awarded to the most spirited swimmer in each age group.

Please read this email in its entirety, as it contains important meet-day information. Meet days are extremely busy for coaches and managers. Our website also includes a "Swim Meet 101" section that explains how to mark your swimmer and what to expect at a meet. This resource is linked HERE.

Schedule

Swimmers should arrive at the pool by 4:30 PM. Warm-ups will begin promptly at 4:45 PM, and we will not be able to delay warm-ups for late arrivals.

New Safety Rules and Pool Deck Capacity Limits from Johnson County

Johnson County has implemented new regulations regarding pool deck access and emergency clearance zones.

No chairs, tents, coolers, or other personal belongings may be placed within 4 feet of the pool edge.
Spectators and volunteers may stand in this area to watch swimmers, but nothing may obstruct emergency access to the pool.
Pool deck seating will be limited primarily to coaches, managers, and League Representatives.
Spectators may enter the pool deck to watch races and then return to designated seating areas outside the pool deck.
Safety Marshals from each team will help enforce these requirements.

Please show kindness, patience, and cooperation as we work together to comply with these new county regulations.

Parking

Parking is available adjacent to the pool and along the lake.

Please park only on the lakeside of the road and not in front of homes.
No Parking signs will be posted where applicable.
Carpooling is strongly encouraged, as parking is limited.
Vehicles blocking resident driveways will be towed.

Crash Area

The LionsGate crash area is located beyond the gate in the grassy area near the clubhouse (see diagram below).

It is very important that swimmers remain in the crash area so they can hear their names when Zoo Parent volunteers call them to line up for events. We will not delay the meet or search for swimmers who are not in the designated area.

Safety Reminders

Swimmers may only dive from the east side of the pool where the starting blocks are located.
Diving is NOT permitted from the shallow west side. Swimmers must start in the water for events beginning in the shallow end.
Swimmers are not allowed in the baby pool, slide area, or on the main pool stairs while the meet is in progress.
No chairs or seating are permitted on the pool deck near the baby pool, the LionsGate crash area walkway, or in front of the visiting team's crash area.
Please plan to sit outside the pool deck.
Swimmers ages 11 and older will use flyover starts.

Volunteer Information

Volunteer check-in tables will be located under the lifeguard awning.

If you are scheduled to volunteer, please review the information that has already been emailed to you.

Pre-meet training sessions for timers, stroke and turn judges, Zoo Parents, and Clerks of Course will begin at 5:10 PM under the canopy on the southeast side of the pool near the LionsGate volunteer check-in sign.

Attendance is required. We cannot begin the meet until all volunteers have arrived.

Concessions

NO GLASS IS ALLOWED. Please help keep our pool and swimmers safe.

A food truck will be available in the parking lot from 5:00 PM–8:00 PM.
Concessions will open at 5:00 PM.
Please send money with your swimmers if they plan to purchase food.
Small bills are appreciated.
Cash only.

VIP Parking Raffle

We are raffling off three front-row parking spots for the meet.

To enter:

Include your first and last name and phone number in the notes section.

Ticket sales close at 4:00 PM on Wednesday. Winners will be notified by text message.

VIP Seating Raffle

We are also raffling off a table to sit at during the meet. The best seats in the house! One winner will receive all four chairs.
